I'M "THERE". ARE YOU?
I FINALLY was able to sign up for There.com. No, There didn't except me; I sort've used my friend's email address to create a Avatar. There is cool, it like a giant version of the Sims, only you don't die or take care of yourself. You just walk around, buy stuff, do neat activities, and meet people. I haven't done to much yet; my Avatar looks like a Hybrid asian (a ripped brunette with narrow eyes). hopefully that will change soon. Got to wait until there is back up and my friends are on though. it can be a lonely online world.

BLUE AND GOLD PRIDE
I just got back from the most exciting game of football I have ever witnessed and possibly one of the most historical games of football (for the winning team). Cal beat USC in triple overtime by a field goal!Cal was an underdog and USC WAS #3 IN THE LEAGUE! This was probably USC's biggest upset and Cal's greatest game. HA! Take that, Trojan fans! =)
another note: congrats to the Cubs for making the playoffs for the first time since 1989. I guess Dusty is a decent manager.

WEDNESDAY BLUES
Funny how as I go through Chapel Leadership everyday, I find out I'm more and more like my principal in terms of beliefs. For a long time, I thought I was the most conservative Christian at my school. I still think I'm one of the most conservative. My friends listen to secular music and do all the worldly stuff like put-down younger kids and become ASB Chaplain (won't mention who since he's got a concussion), swear, and live a worldly Christian life. Even my Chapel Leadership teacher doesn't mind loud music or chapel music that doesn't even mention God or Jesus or Lord or something. (come to think of it, she's all out wacko, saying Shi* today like "I say crap, not shi* and if I meant shi* I would say shi*!) funny though. But neways, I found out early in the year that I'm not the only one who thinks the music is too loud. Dr. U repeatedly had to tell sound to turn it down last year and was approached early this week. Seems that the majority (excl. me) of the class thought that the students aren't singing because they can hear their own voice, so they have to crank up the volume a notch! That's crazy! They'll get more sound out of my mouth, but it'll be a howl of pain! Fortunately, Dr. U feels the same way and said NO. He even surveyed our art class to see who feels that way, and I expressed my concern in written form. Also, chapel tends to play a lot of songs by a British "worship" band called Delirious. I like the band and own one of their CD's , but I don't think that many of their songs are appropriate for worship. The song of controversy is "Deeper" because it doesn't mention the word God, Jesus, etc. AT ALL! Some ppl laugh at the fact that someone could mistake it as a different relationship, but it's more serious than that. So Dr. U doesn't approve of singing that song, nor do I, but of course we'll still be playing it. Mrs. T claims Dr. U will probably change his mind about this by next year, but I pray that he doesn't and hold to the truth. I respect and appreciate Dr. U for his concern that we shouldn't be taught like the world, even the Christian music world says we should be brought up. Right now, I look up to Dr. U for his firm beliefs in what should go through his ears and I hope that he'll stay firm with those beliefs, at least until June 2005. I pray that God will reveal to Chapel Leadership some way that if a song doesn't properly express the love God shows us (not using "You" all the time and not showing how we will love God eternally because we're happy), the love we cannot grasp, cannot thank Him fully for, that it's not glorifying to Him.
On a somewhat more positive note, I improved slightly from last year's practice SAT: 1200-1220. That means I need to study harder.

NEED A NEW HOBBY
Just finished my 5-PAGE AP US HISTORY PRAYSEE (sp?). I'm proud. I made a cool video on Premiere yesterday. I'll get it posted as soon as my friend gets his server up. I did manage to get my website up. Go to http://free.hostdepartment.com/s/scottietales to see at least the entrance. The rest will be put up and the URL shortened when I find a decent looking template.
so video editing, website design, what's next?

IN NEED OF EUCALYPTUS
Just woke up almost 100% normal except my throat was sore. Knowing that I already recovered from the sore throat aspect of my cold, I might be going into a relapse, which is not really possible being that I didn't come into contact with anyone with a cold.
crap, i hope i don't have streph. that's #2 of 3 ailments spreading throughout my school.

MOVIE NIGHT
How boring can a movie get? Here's the plot in, oh, less than 5 sentences of the movie Cold Creek Manor, which I just returned from seeing...
Psycho guy goes to jail. Family moves into psycho guy's old house (not knowing about him yet, obviously). Psycho guy gets out, finds the family, and wants his house back. Psycho guy acts like a friend, but gets ticked at the family and the town. Psycho guy goes on a murderous rampage, killing a cop, his dad, a horse, and attempts to kill family, but falls through a glass skylight and dies.
Can't the writers think of something better???
Go to my new website at http://members.aol.com/beammeup4 (temporary URL) Time was much better spent working on that page rather than seeing that movie...

AND SO THE SEASON OF SICKNESS BEGINS...
ughhh, i feel so sick. i was hoping not to catch in from the 50% of the school that's already sick, but it's too late. I had a sore throat this morning, but now that's gone and i've got a really runny nose and i'm all tirrrrrred.
strange how once it starts, school can be the easiest place to spread the joy. Lot's of people are sick, even Ecklund broke his personal record of sick absent days (2 days).
i think i'm going to take a nap before i work, or else i'll collapse...+_+

NOT THAT IT MATTERS...BUT...
While I was walking around school (by myself obviously), I observed this random thing: There are not a lot of Junior Asian (spec. Chinese) guys. There are very few Junior Asian girls. I've noticed every class has gained a few more Asian guys and girls except for the Juniors. What's with that man? How am I supposed to get this Asian Connection thing going? Noticed it at CBM camp too. Met very few girls that were juniors. True with S.O.S. too, there's only one girl that's a junior. Random observation, but strange...

NO SUBJECT
It's been a while since I posted, mostly because I haven't had the time to post and also I haven't had the creativity to think of something to post about. Anyways, life is back to the usual busy-ness. I had lots of homework this week. Physics sucked bad, as well as AP USH which I studied very very hard for on Thurs. nite to find out that the test sucked on Friday. Enterprise premiered and I'm thoroughly dissappointed how it's starting to go by the strategy that "sex sells" ughh, what a disgrace. Even Roddenberry would be sick.
My new computer is starting to give me the new/old computer woes, when you do something with it and it doesn't respond with the lightning-fast speed you paid for. Serves me right for cramming the HD with 10 GB of stuff in 30 minutes...
No eagletters either, but I'm beginning to think this is mostly it, but I hope not.
Umm, Handmark came out with a new strategy game called Warfare , Inc. Looks sort've like Command&Conquer/Starcraft for the PalmOS. Compatible with my Palm also!
Okay, enough rambling. I'm tired

BOREDOM, SOLITUDE. IT BITES
I dunno, but it seems that I'm not as close to my friends as I was last year. For one thing, half my classes are with people that I don't know. But I think also, as a whole, my friends have become more worldly. By listening to their various summer activities, not one has done an extraordinary, God-glorifying or Bible-learning activity. It's a sad thing to observe. Reminds me of the stat that less than 10% of Christian students who enter college leave their first year as close to God as they were when they entered. And that's just in college! So I'm walking around aimlessly during break with no one to talk to. Oh well, that's what I get for going to a private school full of rich white people and the only asian is a potty-mouth (partially exaggerated). One thing though: it makes me much more excited about Friday nights. It's like a whole other world.

HELP NEEDED
I'm possibly starting up a computer technology consulting business. It basically includes answering technology-related questions, building websites, and fixing and setting up computers and/or networking for small businesses (less than 20 people), and training people in basic computer skills. I need help with all areas. You get paid just about 100% or what I'll charge. To help setting-up/networking or training, you'll need to live in the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area. E-mail me if you're interested.

THE PASSION: A MOVIE FOR HIS GLORY???
I just read in the news and watched the trailer. Mel Gibson has written and produced a movie on the last 12 hours of Jesus' life called The Passion. (yes, the Mel Gibson of Lethal Weapon, Braveheart, and What Women Want) I was watching the trailers and I have mixed feelings.
The movie is rated R for the violent crucifixion scene, and from what I observed in the trailer, it will be completely in Aramaic with possibly no subtitles! Sounds interesting.
In the days of Hollywood, we have to watch out how our beliefs are portrayed. Will The Passion portray Jesus as a man, or truly as God? I know taht Mel Gibson professes to be Catholic, and the release of this movie no doubt shows it, but how has Hollywood influenced him to censor the movie? Is it one that people will see and go, "Wow, surely this man was more than just human." Heh, will the elmination of English subtitles be a help or hindrance? I am thinking it would be a hindrance, because people need to hear who Jesus said he was. Doesn't help much if all you hear is ELOI ELOI LAMA SABACHTHANI etc. the whole movie.
Bottom line is this: I pray that The Passion will have an influence of being more than just a great movie. I pray that Mel Gibson has stayed faithful, trying to keep to the Bible as much as he can, and portraying Jesus as more than just a man. I pray that God would bless this movie, make it a big success not only financially, but spiritually too. I pray that within the entertainment, people will say that surely this man was the son of God and our Savior.
Pray with me as we count down in eager anticipation for this awesome looking movie!

OH HOW THE YEARS HAVE GONE BY
Lately, I've been thinking about my life and how fast or slow some things seem to pass. School, for example, has gone by soooo slooowww this year. It's only the 7th day and it's seemed like an eternity. But some aspects of school seem to go by quickly. It seemed like yesterday I walked into Mrs. Pickering's Bible 1 class as a low freshman and now I'm her TA.
After finishing my Pre-Calc. quiz I looked at my datebook to see what birthdays and events were coming up this month. I looked at the birthdays and thought to myself, "didn't I just send them an e-card!?" Seems much of my life is going by quickly. I examined my spiritual life and I'm thankful that God has given me many opportunities to grow.
Bottom line is this: be a steward of your time. You only live one life on this earth, so make the best of it. Don't waste it, but use it to change the world.

SCHOOL - WEEK 1
Since this officially ends the 1st week of school, here's the report on what's cool, and what's not:
A: AP USH (Ruff) - This class is actually one that I enjoy. Unfortunately, it's in the early morning and yesterday it started quite terribly. Man, A period, the hardest class with one of the strictest teachers. Yesterday, I arrived at class late because I forgot it was chapel day (smart idea to change it after 5 years of Thursday chapel *_*) so I had to rush down the hill to change. I arrive in class, shaken, but ok. I put my backpack down in the usual place, sticking out a little bit, and Mrs. Ruff (bless her soul), TRIPPED ON MY BACKPACK AND TOOK A SPILL! It would seem funny, except that she's holding a possible tardy slip for me and she's again, one of the strictest teachers. So all I could do is just sit there, apologize, and look away. aiyah! felt like i could shoot myself. alex suggested i leave and cry myself to sleep (not a bad idea). But I recovered, and despite the whole junior class being aware to put their backpacks in a better place because of ME, I think Mrs. Ruff forgives me. Other than that, AP USH is challenging but will undoubtedly be my best class this year.
1: AP Physics (Irwin) - Mr. Irwin's a cool guy with shifty eyes. Right now, Physics is sort've over everyone's head. I don't really want to take it, but hopefully, i'll catch on soon.
2: TA (Pickering) - it's boring, but it's a nice break after my 2 AP classes. I sit in her desk and grade papers and do homework, and I get credit for doing it!
3: Weights (Eck-lund) - best class man! u get to work out, go on field trips every other week. it's good for u too. Eck is awesome too. I got stuck with the "kids" though, so Eck's making me teach them exercises. It's all good.
4: American Lit. (Anderson) - I dropped AP Eng. so I ended up here. So far it's pretty easy. Mr. Anderson's awesome too. I had him for World Hist. last year. All the seniors say he's a much better english teacher. Let's see if I improve in my weakest area.
5: Chapel Leadership (Taylor) - THE BEST CLASS! We mainly joke around, talk, plan a little bit, the band plays, I work media. It's so great, so much fun, not much work either!
6: Art 1 (Baird) - Art is fun, i'm not good at it. I joined this class 2nd day of school and i'm still really not sure what's going on. Mr. Baird's cool though. Easy. no friends in this class, but that's ok.
wheew, 7: Pre-Calculus Honors (Irwin) - Essentially the same as Physics, only with mainly juniors. Same routine, same over-the-head concepts.

LABOR DAY STUFF
I just got back from the SFBC Labor Day Retreat. It was pretty cool. Stephen Wong finally came so I got to chat with him and stuff. The speaker was Pastor Alvin Louie from CIBC. His messages were on training us to be spiritually fit. Although I didn't meet a lot of new people, it was a good experience and a good way to get away from the house.
Man, just thinking of this next week makes me tired. I think I'll go to bed early *yawn ^_^
